In what year did the war with Napoleon begin and end?

In 1812, on July 24, a 400,000-strong French army led by Napoleon invaded the Russian borders, which meant a declaration of war. In the summer of the same year, the French managed to get two big victories in Smolensk and Borodino, but Napoleon’s luck ended there. After the capture of Moscow, the French army was in a very serious condition, supplies of provisions were running out, and the onset of cold weather only exacerbated the situation. As a result, Napoleon’s army ceased to exist, most of the soldiers either deserted or died of disease. Thus, by the end of 1812, the war ended with the defeat of France.
