In what year was the constitution of a unified Germany adopted?

The first constitution of a united Germany was approved in 1871. It was created on the basis of the main law of the North German Confederation, after Prussia defeated France in the war of 1870-71. The principalities negotiated their membership in the Union, and in its place a united Germany arose, which began to be called the German Empire, and the president – the Kaiser. The constitution consisted of a Preamble and 13 sections. The power to make laws belonged to the Reichstag and the Bundesrat.
