In which areas of the earth do tsunamis occur most often and what causes it?

Tsunami is an unusual natural phenomenon formed against the background of the fact that the lithospheric plates of the earth move among themselves. The earthquake raises the plates one above the other. The condition for the creation of waves is a significant vertical movement of a certain section of the seabed. The magnitude of the wave at the place of movement of the plates is associated not only with the distance by which the plate moved, but also with the force of the seismic shock. Most often, these natural phenomena occur in Japan, the Philippines, the Bay of Bengal.
