In which country – in Greece or in Italy – the natural conditions were more favorable for the life of people? How was this expressed?

It is about the period of antiquity. Conditions were better in Italy, although the civilization got there much later, Rome was founded in the VIII century BC, this is hundreds of years after the Cretan-Minoan and Achaean civilizations.

Italy had all the advantages of Greece: a warm climate, harbors for ports, deposits of minerals (iron, copper and others), timber for the construction of ships and a favorable geographical position for trade. However, in Greece it was worse with fertile land, and in Italy, cereals grew better, which was later expressed in the peculiarities of the cuisine (pasta).
