In which directions does the Amazonian lowland stretch?

The Amazon or Amazonian lowland is the largest lowland in the world and it extends over an area of more than 5 million km². It is located in South America and stretches from the foot of the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean. Also, it lies between two plateaus: Guiana and Brazilian. The Amazon, flowing in this lowland, annually takes out about 15% of all river waters on the planet into the ocean.
