In which society was there practically no social mobility?

In a traditional (agrarian) society. This type of society was previously typical for most eastern countries. Until the beginning of the 20th century, our country was an agricultural country; the traditional way of life prevailed in the villages. For generations, peasants lived in the same village, were engaged in heavy agricultural labor, did not leave for the cities. In fact, their entire life proceeded in a limited confined space, within the boundaries of their village (village). Before the abolition of serfdom, the peasants were actually deprived of rights, it was possible to take some place under the master only by his “grace”. Therefore, there was virtually no social mobility.
