Indicate the similarities and differences between mitosis and meiosis.

Similarities: have the same division phases, self-duplication of DNA molecules in chromosomes and spiralization of chromosomes occur.
Differences: mitosis – one division, meiosis – two consecutive divisions. There is no conjugation in mitosis, there is in meiosis. During mitosis, two diploid cells are formed; during meiosis, four haploid cells are formed.
