Indicate the types of plastids and their main characteristics.

Plastids are organelles characteristic only of the cells of a plant organism. There are three types of them:

Chromoplasts;
Chloroplasts;
Leukoplasts.

All in structure – two-membrane organelles.

Chloroplasts are organelles with chlorophyll, a substance that gives a green color, so photosynthesis takes place in them.

Chromoplasts – pigments of red, orange and yellow colors. They are in the leaves of the autumn season.

Leukoplasts – organelles contained in parts of the plant far from the sun’s rays (tubers, rhizomes). They accumulate nutrients in themselves.
