Indicate three differences between interstratal water and groundwater.

1. Ground waters lie closer to the surface, and interstratal waters are deeper.
2. Groundwater lies between the permeable layer, which is on top, and the impermeable layer, which is below.
3. Groundwater is replenished by water seeping very quickly from the top (precipitation), which leads to a rapid change in the level of groundwater – in the spring, when the snow melts, it is higher, it can be seen from the water level in the wells. Interstratal replenishment is very slow – only where they come to the surface, wells are drilled for production.
