Back in 1370, one of the largest cities in Central Asia, Samarkand, was captured by Timur’s troops. He strove to become the same cruel and outstanding conqueror as Genghis Khan himself. Timur created a huge army for this purpose and began his aggressive campaigns. During his campaigns, he was able to conquer large lands of Central Asia, Iran, Transcaucasia, the territory of Mesopotamia. All these possessions became part of his empire. Terrible Timur also fought with India, the Golden Horde and even Turkey. He planned to conquer China, but in 1405 he dies.
