Influence of pollution of the reservoir on the number of animals and plants.
The pollution of the reservoir can be divided into two types – organic and mineral. They have a different effect on the composition of the living. In the first case, organic matter can stimulate the reproduction of plankton, including phytoplankton – the reservoir will “bloom”, the film of the simplest algae will block the access of oxygen and light – fish will be frozen, multicellular algae will die. With mineral pollution, a deterioration in the state of all living organisms can be expected, since not all ions in high concentrations have a beneficial effect on living organisms. For example, copper salts are toxic and heavy metals accumulate in food webs. A decrease in biodiversity in such a body of water can be expected, as well as the morbidity of fish, amphibians and birds living in this body of water.
