Is carbon dioxide a mixture? Why?

Carbon dioxide – the trivial name for carbon monoxide (IV), consists of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. Has a gross formula of CO2. Since it is a pure substance, it cannot be called a mixture. The mixture consists of at least two pure substances, evenly distributed among themselves.
