Is it possible to completely melt all national groups and form a single ethnos?

I believe that even in modern conditions of globalization, the formation of a single ethnic group is impossible. Nations and nationalities have their own culture, honor their traditions and foundations. Each nation has its own characteristics, which are not forgotten from year to year, but become stronger, forming a national history.
