Is it possible to distinguish dry-loving plants in appearance from plants that live in conditions of moderate humidity?

Dry-loving plants, or rather, probably, drought-resistant, differ from plants growing in areas with sufficient moisture. The leaves of such plants are usually small, sometimes very small. Leaves can transform into thorns. Plants in dry regions have a very long root system. The organs of the plant are coated with special substances, resembling wax, in order to protect from excessive exposure to sunlight and excess evaporation of water. The color of the leaves of such plants is often lighter.
