Is light energy used to synthesize molecules during photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis takes place in the cells of plants and some animals. Chloroplasts are needed to support this process. They receive carbon dioxide and water. A complex biochemical reaction can only begin when exposed to sunlight. Actually “Photo” means light. Ultimately, the plant releases glucose. Oxygen is released as a by-product of the reaction. In addition, other substances are formed. For example – chlorophyll pigment. It has a characteristic green color, which gives the plant its color.
