Is point A (1; 2) a solution to this system? 4x-3y = 7 5x + 2y = 26

In order to find out whether a point with coordinates A (1; 2) is a solution to this system:

4x – 3y = 7;

5x + 2y = 26,

we substitute the coordinates of the point A into both equations of the system and perform the calculations. If as a result we get two correct equalities, then we can say that point A is a solution to the system.

x = 1; y = 2.

System of equations:

4 * 1 – 3 * 2 = 7;

5 * 1 + 2 * 2 = 26;

System of equations:

4 – 6 = 7;

5 + 4 = 26;

System:

-2 = 7;

9 = 26.

Point A is not a system solution.
