The difference in nutrient content comes from the different functions of the male and female gametes. Accordingly, the task of males is only to deliver genetic material to females, mitochondria are produced for the movement of energy, which means that the sperm contains practically no nutrients. But the ovum, after the formation of the zygote, needs resources for subsequent divisions, until it attaches to the epithelium of the uterus and begins to receive the necessary substances with the blood flow.
