Is the bacterium the smallest inhabitant of the biosphere?

The bacteria can be seen using a conventional microscope. But, there is an organism in the biosphere, which is even smaller. This is a virus. It can only be seen with a very strong microscope. All viruses are parasites, i.e. their vital processes occur only inside the cells of living organisms.
