Is the gene pool of wild or cultivated species more diverse and why?

The gene pool of wild plants is very diverse, since in nature free crossing occurs, where alleles responsible for the development of various mutations can occur. What kind of combination of genes will turn out in a wild plant is unknown, this process cannot be foreseen, it is unpredictable. Crop plants usually have a set of traits that are beneficial to humans. Their alleles are selected by breeders in such a way that unwanted traits do not appear; crossing of individuals occurs with the same characteristics as theirs. Diversity in this case is excluded.
