Is there a connection between the First World War and the fall of the autocracy?

The First World War caused the fall of many states. It began in 1914. At first, the people perceived the hostilities as a liberation struggle of the fraternal peoples, but the longer the war dragged on, the more difficult it was for the people. Many men went to the front, there was no one on the ground to work, there was not enough bread. Which led to discontent. The situation was complicated by the fact that more and more slogans began to sound not only about the demand to end the war, but also to destroy the autocratic power. These events culminated in 1917, when the tsar was at headquarters, the ruling circles advocated the overthrow of the imperial power. And in February Russia ceased to be an empire.
