Is there a metabolism in all organisms?

Metabolism is a characteristic property of living things. In total, there are two types of organisms for the production of organic matter. Autotrophs are capable of producing various organic substances themselves. They only absorb water, some gases and minerals. These are all green plants. There are also heterotrophs. They consume ready-made substances by eating autotrophs or other heterotrophs. In such organisms, the metabolism is much more complicated, since it requires the splitting of ready-made substances for their processing and excretion.
