In order to protect the lives of people living there, geologists (representatives of an integral part of geography) study the frequency of seismic activity and, on the basis of the collected data, try to create a system for predicting earthquakes.
As you know, our planet is now experiencing a period of warming. Scientists use atmospheric data to create planned models to understand how quickly the temperature will rise and what consequences this will lead to different regions of the planet. After all, factors such as evaporation and drying out of water bodies, amount of precipitation, type of vegetation, etc. directly depend on the air temperature.
Since modern technologies and human life are developing at a rapid pace, the world always needs new resources and minerals. Therefore, specialists are constantly looking for and finding new deposits. This is done using satellites equipped with special radars, as well as on the basis of information about what minerals are contained in a particular rock and with what other substances they are combined.
Fresh water is unevenly distributed on our planet, and scientists are constantly forced to monitor and analyze the rate of water use, since its shortage can lead to catastrophic consequences.
Geographers also study the human impact on the environment, since humanity throws tons of gases into the atmosphere, toxic waste into the ground, etc.
