Knowing the equations of a straight line, how to find out through what points it passes?

Suppose we have a straight line equation y = a × x + b, where “x” and “y” are coordinates, and “a” and “b” are numerical coefficients. Substituting instead of “x” or “y” any numerical value, we get an equation with one unknown, solving which, we will find the second coordinate. Thus, you can find the coordinates of any point lying on a given straight line.
