Length of a rectangular parallelepiped = 36cm, width is 5/9 of its length. Find the volume of a parallelepiped if its width is 5/4 of its height.
Determine the width of the rectangular parallelepiped, provided that it is 5/9 of its length, equal to 36 cm.
Remember: in order to find a part of an integer value, you must divide it by the denominator of the fraction and multiply by its numerator.
36: 9 * 5 = 20 cm.
Width is 5/4 height, hence:
20: 5 * 4 = 16 cm.
The volume of such a figure is calculated by the formula:
V = a * b * c = 36 * 20 * 16 = 11520 cm³.
