Let’s compose a system of equations:
(1) -9 = 10k + b.
(2) 7 = -6k + b.
We subtract from (1) the equation – (2) the equation and obtain (3):
-16 = 16k, k = -1.
substitute the value of k in (1):
– 9 = -10 + b
b = 1.
The sought function: y = -x + 1.
