Automation of human activity – the performance of human work by technical means.
The main advantages of automation are that due to the introduction of technical means, the speed of work increases, productivity increases, the number of errors decreases (the so-called human factor), and often machine labor is cheaper than human labor.
Disadvantages: when human labor is replaced by machine labor, the factor of creativity decreases. Some kind of human activity cannot be automated.
