List the reasons for the Russo-Japanese War.

Russia sought to ensure control over Korea so that Russian monopolists could conduct their trade here. Japan, in turn, in every possible way wanted to prevent this. The Japanese were afraid of the strengthening of Russia in the Far East and themselves wanted to make Korea a sphere of their influence. Japan, having passed a rapid path of modernization, needed a large amount of resources, both human and industrial, for further economic development. A significant role in unleashing the future war was played by the United States and European countries, which led a dual policy towards the participants in the future war, trying to weaken their competitors in the Far East.
