Major cities of the Byzantine Empire.

The largest in all times was Constantinople. During the early Middle Ages, it was one of the largest cities in the world and the largest city in Europe. Other major cities include:
Nicaea. It was located south of Constantinople in the western part of the peninsula of Asia Minor, now called Iznik.
Trabzon. He separated from the XIII century and the Comnenian dynasty ruled there until 1461.
Thessaloniki. One of the largest cities in the Balkans.
Ravenna. In the early period of Byzantium’s existence, it was part of the empire, even buildings have survived there.
