Major events of the American Civil War?

The reason for the outbreak of the Civil War in the United States was the confrontation between the free states, which did not support the slave system, with the Confederation of the southern states of the country, which supported and continued to use slave labor.
The beginning of the war was the shelling of Fort Sumter in South Carolina by the Confederate army on April 12, 1861.
This was followed by a series of defeats for the army of the North, as a result of which the government decided to distribute free land to citizens who did not fight against the North.
Thanks to this, most of the population of the South sided with the North.
In May 1863, a campaign began to attack Richmond.
In 1864, the offensive began on the state of Georgia.
On May 9, 1865, the war was over, although the last battle took place 3 days after that.
