| Let’s write down the equations of chemical reactions for the following compounds. It turns out the following.
C → CO2 → K2CO3 → CaCO3 → CO2.
1. Combustion reaction or compound reaction.
C + O2 = CO2.
When carbon interacts with oxygen, the result is carbon monoxide.
2. Connection reaction.
CO2 + K2O = K2CO3.
When carbon monoxide and potassium oxide react, the result is potassium carbonate.
3. Reaction of exchange.
K2CO3 + Ca (OH) 2 = CaCO3 + 2KOH.
The result is calcium carbonate and potassium hydroxide.
4. Decomposition reaction. It flows in the presence of temperature.
CaCO3 -> CaO + CO2.
The result is calcium oxide and carbon monoxide.
