Chain of inorganic reactions

1. NH3 + HCI = NH4CI (ammonium chloride is formed);

2. NH4CI + NaOH = NH3 + NaCI + H2O (a characteristic feature of the reaction is the smell of ammonia);

3. 4NH3 + 5O2 = 4NO + 6H2O (the reaction proceeds on a platinum catalyst);

4.2NO + O2 = 2NO2;

5. 4NO2 + 2H20 + O2 = 4HN03 (the last two reactions are used in industry for the synthesis of nitric acid).
