| The straight line equation has the form y = kx + b. We substitute the coordinates of points A and B into this equation and find k and b, we have a system of equations:
4k + b = -1;
-6k + b = 2.
Multiply the first equation by (-1), get -4k – b = 1 and add it to the second equation
-4k – b + (-6k) + b = 2 + 1;
-10k = 3;
k = 3: (-10);
k = – 0.3.
Substitute the value k = – 0.3 into the first equation of the system and find b, we get
4 * (-0.3) + b = -1;
-1.2 + b = -1;
b = -1 + 1.2;
b = 1.
Hence, the equation of the straight line will have the form y = -0.3x + 1.
