1) S + Fe = FeS (when sulfur interacts with iron, iron sulfide is formed);
2) 2FeS + 3O2 = 2SO2 + 2FeO (when iron sulfide interacts with oxygen, sulfur dioxide and iron oxide are formed);
3) SO2 + H2O = H2SO3 (when sulfur dioxide interacts with water, sulfite acid is formed);
4) H2SO3 = SO2 + H2O (when heated, sulfite acid decomposes into sulfur dioxide and water).
