| 1) When aluminum carbide interacts with water, a precipitate of aluminum hydroxide and methane is formed:
Al4C3 + 12H2O → 4Al (OH) 3 ↓ + 3CH4;
2) Methane reacts with chlorine, it turns out – chloromethane and hydrochloric acid:
CH4 + Cl2 → CH3Cl + HCl;
3) During the reaction between chloromethane and metallic sodium, ethane and sodium chloride are formed:
2CH3Cl + 2Na → C2H6 + 2NaCl;
4) To get chloroethane from ethane, you need to add chlorine to it:
C2H6 + Cl2 → C2H5Cl + HCl;
5) Chloroethane reacts with metallic sodium, it turns out – butane and sodium chloride:
C2H5Cl + 2Na → C4H10 + 2NaCl.
