| Let’s write down the reaction equations for the following chain of compounds.
Al – Al2 (SO4) 3 – Al (OH) 3 – Al2O3 – Al (NO3) 3.
Substitution reaction.
2Al + 3H2SO4 = Al2 (SO4) 3 + 3H2 ↑.
As a result, aluminum sulfate is formed and hydrogen is released.
Exchange reaction.
Al2 (SO4) 3 + 3 Ba (OH) 2 = 2Аl (OH) 3 + 3 BaSO4.
The result is aluminum hydroxide and barium sulfate.
Decomposition reaction.
Al (OH) 3 = Al2O3 + H2O.
The result is aluminum oxide and water.
Compound reaction.
Al2O3 + 3N2O5 = 2Al (NO3) 3.
As a result, aluminum nitrate is formed.
