Simple substances are substances consisting of one chemical element, and complex substances – of two or more different elements.

1) 2Li + S = Li2S (when lithium interacts with sulfur, lithium sulfide is formed);

2) Zn + S = ZnS (when zinc interacts with sulfur, zinc sulfide is formed);

3) S + O2 = SO2 (when sulfur reacts with oxygen, sulfur dioxide is formed);

4) C + 2S = CS2 (when carbon interacts with sulfur, carbon disulfide is formed).
