Martin Luther’s attitude to wealth.

Martin Luther had a negative attitude towards wealth, primarily church wealth. He believed that a person is saved only by faith, which is obtained exclusively by the grace of God. The Bible is the authority in spiritual matters, not the Catholic Church, headed by the Pope. Hence Luther’s conviction that the churches should not belong to land and wealth, it is necessary to abandon lush robes and rich decoration, the church should be simple and cheap. Such thoughts clearly contradicted the principles of the existence of the Catholic Church.
