Measurements of a rectangular parallelepiped is 2cm, 6cm, 6cm. Find an edge of a cube whose volume is three times the given parallelepiped.
Let us determine how many cubic centimeters the volume of our parallelepiped will express, when from the condition of the task we know that its dimensions are 2, 6 and 6 cm, respectively:
2 * 6 * 6 = 12 * 6 = 72.
Let us determine how many cubic centimeters will express the volume of our cube, when from the condition of the task we know that it is three times the volume of the parallelepiped:
3 * 72 = 216.
Let us determine what the edge of our cube will equal with this volume:
∛216 = 6.
Answer: Rib = 6 cm.
