In 1940, in Western Europe, hostilities were conducted:

In Norway and Denmark, from April to June.
In France, Belgium and the Netherlands. May 10 to June 25. France lasted the longest because of its size, Holland lasted for 4 days.
In 1942 there was an attempt at landing in Dieppe, but unsuccessful.
In 1944, a second front was opened in Europe. First, the landing in Normandy, and then the fighting took place in central France, Belgium (early January 1945) and in the territory between the Reich Rhine and Thuringia (January-April 1945).
