Milk was poured into two containers in the second, twice as much as in the first. 10 liters each were drained from two containers, three times more remained in the second. How much milk is in each container?

Let in the first container x l, then in the second – 2x l. They drained 10 liters each, and in the second it became three times more. Let’s make the equation:
3 (x-10) = (2x-10)
3x-30 = 2x-10
3x-2x = 30-10
x = 20
The first container contained 20 liters, and the second 20 * 2 = 40 liters
