Name an important feature of the structure of organic compounds of the cell.

The cell contains a huge amount of organic matter. The main ones are proteins, fats, carbohydrates, nucleic acids (DNA). They are all made up of four basic chemical elements: carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. There are, of course, others. Another feature of the organic substances of the cell is the complexity of their structure. They often form complex substances with each other using special bonds (amino acids form protein). The bonds of organic substances contain a large amount of energy and when they break down, it is used by the body.

All living organisms are composed of organic matter. There are much more of them in them than inorganic ones, but they all do not consist of five basic elements:

Carbon;
Oxygen;
Hydrogen;
Phosphorus;
Sulfur.
They are combined in different combinations, forming a variety of organic substances in cells.

Feature of organic compounds of cells:

Elemental composition. All substances are based on only 5 basic elements.
These elements form molecules – monomers, similar in structure for different classes of substances
All substances are composed of monomers, which are combined in various ways.
