Name blood depots known to you. What value do they have for the human body?

The main blood depots are the liver, spleen, and bone marrow. Depot means that they store blood cells in case of an emergency. One of these emergencies is acute blood loss – due to wounds, trauma, internal bleeding. The body begins to feel that it is losing blood and gives the order to throw blood out of the depot. These cells are usually not quite mature. For example, there will be many reticulocytes in the blood instead of mature erythrocytes. The bone marrow plays its role as a depot in severe infections – it launches into the blood many immature leukocytes – stab, metamyelocytes.
