Alcohols are a class of organic compounds that contain a hydroxyl group OH. This group, in turn, is associated with carbon (C).
Alcohols are divided into the following groups:

C2H5OH is called ethanol,

The second group is polyatomic, which contain two or more hydroxyl groups.
