This is Darius, the king of the Persian state, defeated by Alexander and killed by his entourage, the king of Por, Roxana, who became a character in legends, the wife of Alexander and the daughter of one of the entourage of Darius (satrap Oxyartes), then – Spitamen, a Sogdian nobleman who led the resistance to Alexander’s troops. You can also remember the satrap Bessa, the murderer of Darius, who reigned for a short time after the death of Darius, another semi-legendary character – the Indian sage-gymnosophist (apparently a yoga) Kalan, who for some time accompanied the Macedonian army, but then voluntarily burned himself at the stake, predicting before that Alexander was his royal fate.
