Name the tissues along which water and mineral salts, organic substances move in plants.

The tissues along which water and mineral salts move in plants, organic substances are called conductive.

They form 2 streams: ascending (xylem), which ensures the transport of water and minerals from the root to the leaves, and descending (phloem) – the movement of solutions of organic substances from leaves to the root. The difference in flows lies not only in the directions of transport, but also in what cells they are formed by:

– xylem consists of vessels;

– the phloem is formed by sieve tubes.
