On a bright sunny day, the light enters the windows of the apartments, and in all the rooms, the windows of which are facing the sun, it is bright. However, to passers-by from the street, the windows seem dark against the background of the walls of the buildings. Why?
Sunlight that hits the walls of the houses is reflected from them repeatedly. And glasses transmit sunlight very well and do not reflect it, as a result of which they appear black. According to the laws of physics, part of the light passes through the glass medium, but at the same time changes its direction. This is called the law of refraction of light. Therefore, we see black windows, because sunlight passing through the glass is scattered, and is reflected from the walls on the street.
