Driving forces of evolution: EO, BZS, NI. When exposed to harsh conditions, some individuals in the population developed random mutations (hereditary variability). they could prove useful and give advantages to the individuals in whom they manifested. So these individuals received advantages in the struggle for existence and were preserved by natural selection. As a result of the reproduction of such individuals and the production of their fertile offspring, these traits were fixed in the population. This is how adaptations arose.
