According to the condition of the problem, it is specified that AM = 14 cm and BN = 12 cm, it is also specified that point N is between points A and M, and point M is between points N and B, therefore, in order to find the length of the segment NM, it is necessary from the sum of the segments AM and NB subtract the length of the segment AB:
