On the segment CD, points M and N are marked so that point M lies between points C and N. Find the length of the segment CD, if CM is 15 cm, MN is more than CM by 6 cm, and CM is less than ND by 4 cm.

It is known from the problem statement that:

1) MN> CM by 6 cm, therefore MN = 15 + 6 = 21 cm;

2) CM <ND or ND> CM by 4 cm, then ND = 15 + 4 = 19 cm.

Let’s find the length of the segment CD, which consists of three:

CD = CM + MN + ND = 15 + 21 + 19 = 15 + 40 = 55 cm.

Answer: 55 cm.
