One of the sides of a triangle is 5 times smaller than the other and 25 cm less than the third. Find a side of the triangle if its perimeter is 74 cm.

1) Find out the length of the first side of the triangle, if it is known that the second is 5 times longer than the first, and the third is 25 cm longer than the first, the perimeter of the triangle is 74 cm.We make an equation where:

X is the length of the first side;

5X – length of 2 sides;

X + 25 – length of 3 sides;

74 – perimeter.

X + 5X + X + 25 = 74;

7X = 74 – 25;

7X = 49;

X = 49/7;

X = 7 cm.

2) Find out the length of the second side.

7 * 5 = 35 cm.

3) Find out how long the third side is.

7 + 25 = 32 cm.

Answer: the length of the first side of the triangle is 7 cm, the second is 35 cm, the third is 32 cm.
